There has to be a time or place in your life where you can be satisfied/happy with all God has given you and who you are in him. I am mainly speaking about learning to love yourself even with all our imperfections. Loving yourself in your own skin realize how special you are in your Fathers eyes.
When will we get to that point in our lives where we see ourselves through Gods eyes not our own? To understand all of our inadequacies with what makes us unique and different! Let’s start with who we are, not our mom, sister, friends, model, or actresses but who God has made Us to be, with all the unique, quirky, and awkward tendencies.
It’s Ok To Like You
We have to come to a place where we love ourselves the way God loves us. It’s ok that we are different from one another. God created us that way no two people are the same, that’s a good thing lol, it would be boring if we were all alike.
Yes, I do believe there is always room to grow and change, to become better, but there has got to be a point when you say, it’s ok to like yourself with all the good attributes and the weaknesses that we can improve on.
What Does God See
I feel like we need to get a New Perspective, a God perspective on how He sees us.
What does God see?
When will I be confident in my own skin? Maybe you are saying this too.
I feel like I am always trying to become something or someone I’m not, feeling like I need to measure up believing that it will bring me to a deeper level of my own identity or purpose. For example, by trying to be a social butterfly online, getting the right hairstyle, doing all kinds of beauty tips, which I love to do. Buying certain clothes, writing that perfect song, baking a scrumptious recipe, trying to dot my I’s and cross my T’s, but where is the balance? I think all these things are necessary to better ourselves, and to care for ourselves, like self-care routines. Those times are needed definitely, and we all need a little pampering sometimes to feel beautiful.
Here are some ideas for self-care. Spa baskets, Candles, journaling, are a few to try. It’s always nice to pamper yourself, and to take a few moments for YOU!!!
How do I distinguish if I’m competing with society, having all the right trends, competing with others and positions, what everybody else is doing, with their talents. The list could go on. Well, you get the picture, I think we have to take a good hard look, speaking to myself especially. We need to be confident and satisfied with who we are and how God created us to be.
When I go down this rabbit’s hole I realized first of all, that I start learning to see myself through Gods eyes and not my own fleshly ways of thinking. It feels like a lot of times, I’m just competing with me, myself, & I. I tell myself things like I’ll never make it or accomplish that, look at the way you look, who do you think you are trying to do that, I’m always fighting with my thoughts. My thinking process needs to change.
What Does God Say
What does God say about me?
Just from memory thinking about scriptures, God says, we are the apple of his eye, we are the head not the tail, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus, He knows every hair on my head. He knew me in my mother’s womb. We are joint Aires with him. We are his children, His friend. He calls us blessed, and we are His Beloved!
uWhat else does God say, let’s dig deeper.
We sit in the heavens with him, priest and kings, child of the Most, High God, we are made in his image , Wow! That’s awesome 🤩 made in his image, pretty powerful.
For it was you who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. Ps 139:13-14
So many scriptures referring to what God says about us. Let’s try to focus on these thoughts daily instead of all the negative emotions that come creeping in. What better people we could be if we could see through Gods eyes. Let us remember whose we are? What Gods word says about us.
